FMCSA Clearinghouse: Automated Reporting and Compliance Tracking
The FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse is a federal database of CDL drivers with drug/alcohol violations. FMCSA requires every motor carrier to query the Clearinghouse before hiring and before each CDL renewal. Missing a query—or failing to report an RTD clearance—puts you out of compliance. Full & Limited Query Support
Atlas Onboard supports both query types: limited (pre-hire, returns only violations involving the specific driver) and full (annual, returns all violations). You define the type per use case.
Violation Flagging
When a query returns a violation, Atlas Onboard flags the driver and prevents scheduling until RTD is complete. Compliance officers are notified immediately.
RTD Clearance Reporting
When a driver completes RTD and passes a follow-up test, Atlas Onboard reports the clearance back to the FMCSA Clearinghouse automatically. No manual uploads.
